Lafayette Courier: The expected death of Col. John S. Williams, editor and publisher of the Sunday Times, one of Lafayette’s oldest and most influential citizens, occurred at 6 o’clock last evening at the family residence, on South Street. For several days his life had been hanging on the balance, by a very slender thread, and the people of the city were prepared for the announcement of his death.
